Honoring outstanding achievements in public relations in the Capital Region.

Albany, NY:- The Capital Region Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America is currently excepting entries for the Empire Awards, an inaugural award honoring the outstanding excellence in public relations and communications.

The award was established by the PRSA Capital Region Chapter to recognize local agencies, organizations and non-profits for their outstanding campaigns and efforts in public relations.  There are several categories to which to submit, ranging from media relations, public affairs, and public relations.  Entries are being excepted from both members and non-members.  The award will honor work that took place from January 1, 2007 to May 1, 2008.    In addition, The Empire Award will honor one outstanding PR practitioner and an outstanding communicator.

“We are seeing a lot of excitement in the creation of the Empire Awards,” said Tom Nardacci, local chapter president.  “The idea of establishing awards for local public relations professionals is long overdue.  This region enjoys a tremendous pool if public relations talent that deserves to be recognized for its creativity.”

Zone 5 is the Platinum sponsor for the Inaugural Empire Awards, Gramercy Communications and Baker Public Relations are Silver sponsors and Shorey Public Relations is a Bronze Sponsor.

The awards luncheon will be held on November 13, at the Albany Institute of History & Art, from 11:30-1:30pm. You may send your entries to PRSA Capital Region Chapter, c/o Grammercy Communications, 39 North Pearl Street, 1st Fl, Albany, NY 12207.
