Bruce Smith has served on top leadership teams at colleges or universities in the public and private sectors for the last ten years. He has led public relations, media relations, marketing, communications, web, business development, sales and other functions. He has also taught business to bachelor's degree students.
Smith has media relations, communications, marketing, management and/or consulting experience outside of higher education in the for-profit, non-profit, and/or government sectors.
He is one of very few (if any) Capital Region executives who have earned accreditation from both the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).
Unlike his namesake, Bruce has never played professional football, but wouldn't mind creating an ad for the Super Bowl one day. Smith earned his bachelor's degree in writing and master's degree in administration from Johns Hopkins University.
